Haflinger horse race
Every year on Easter Monday, this famous race takes place at the Merano/Meran horse racetrack – a dream for horse lovers and competition enthusiasts.
Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle
The botanical gardens are open every year from late March/early April to mid-October. In July and August, there are also concerts performed by renowned international artists – these events are a major highlight!
South Tyrol Jazz Festival
In June and July, the finest jazz sounds can be heard throughout South Tyrol. The locations for the concerts vary – from a castle or a farm to a park or a cable car station.
Tuesday evenings
From the end of June to the middle of August, Merano/Meran’s old town is even more lively than usual – thanks to musical highlights, culinary specialities, and shopping into the late evening.

Merano/Meran City Festival
Every two years in August, the famous Merano/Meran city festival takes place. In 2020, the time has come again – for three days, guests and locals celebrate life and summer in the old town of Merano/Meran. In the years in between, the Maia Alta/Obermais village festival, a very popular village festival in Merano and Environs, takes place in the noble Merano/Meran villa district.
Merano/Meran Music Weeks
In August and September, talented classical musicians as well as representatives from World Music and many more perform in the Merano/Meran Kursaal. Don’t miss this exciting event!
Merano/Meran Grape Festival
Since 1886, the traditional grape festival has taken place in the old town of Merano/Meran in October. The procession with decorated floats is one of the highlights.
